Join us for an unforgettable week-long outdoor basecamp at Prairie Creek Campground on the shores of Beaver Lake in northwest Arkansas—home to some of the best mountain biking, paddling, and hiking in the Midwest.
This adventure blends world-class Bentonville singletrack, crystal-clear Ozark rivers, scenic lake paddling, and top-tier regional hiking, with plenty of flexibility to do as much—or as little—as you want.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Prairie Creek Campground sits just minutes from Rogers and Bentonville yet feels immersed in the forested beauty of the Ozark Mountains. With direct lake access and short drives to nationally known outdoor destinations, it’s an ideal week-long basecamp for exploration and relaxation.
PADDLING – BEAVER LAKE
A large, clear Ozark reservoir perfect for kayaks, canoes, and paddleboards.
- Quiet coves, wooded shorelines, and excellent swimming
- Easy shoreline launches from the campground
- Ideal for sunrise paddles or relaxed evening floats
Bring your own watercraft strongly recommended.
Limited rentals may be available in the Rogers area.
KAYAKING – BUFFALO NATIONAL RIVER
One of America’s first National Rivers and among the most beautiful float trips in the central U.S.
- Towering bluffs, clear flowing water, and abundant wildlife
- Multiple float sections within ~1.5–2 hours of camp
- Options ranging from easy scenic paddles to longer day trips
Outfitters and shuttle services are widely available near Ponca, Jasper, and Harrison.
Trip details will depend on river levels and weather.
MOUNTAIN BIKING – BENTONVILLE AREA
Northwest Arkansas is widely considered a premier U.S. mountain biking destination.
Possible ride locations include:
- Slaughter Pen Trail System
- Coler Mountain Bike Preserve
- Hobbs State Park Monument Trails
- Back 40 Trail (Bella Vista)
Expect flow trails, technical features, and miles of interconnected singletrack suitable for intermediate through advanced riders, with beginner options available.
Short daily drives from camp (≈15–40 minutes).
HIKING – OZARK REGION
Exceptional hiking opportunities lie within a two-hour radius of Prairie Creek.
Potential destinations:
- Buffalo National River trails (Ponca, Lost Valley, Whitaker Point/Hawksbill Crag)
- Hobbs State Park conservation trails
- Devil’s Den State Park
- Local Beaver Lake shoreline trails
Hikes will be coordinated based on group interest, weather, and energy levels.

GETTING THERE
Prairie Creek Campground near Rogers, Arkansas is approximately:
- 9–10 hours from Dayton, Ohio
- 30 minutes from Bentonville

You are responsible for your own meals.
