Private Groups

Keep your community members-only with Pro private groups.

Private groups keep your community members-only. Only approved members can view events, posts, and discussions. Everyone else sees a simple landing page where they can request to join.

Private groups are a Pro feature. When you turn privacy on, Radius also hides the group fromsearch, the groups map, and public activity feeds. Read more in our blog post about private groups.

Turning on a private group

  1. 1Open your group'sSettings
  2. 2Go to thePrivacy tab
  3. 3Turn onPrivate group

Note: You need an active Pro subscription for the group. Free groups can turn privacy off, but cannot enable it without upgrading.

What changes

  • Non-members cannot view group content, event pages, or calendar feeds
  • Join requests must be approved before someone becomes a member
  • The group is hidden from public discovery on Radius

Members still see the full group page. A small lock badge appears next to the group name soeveryone knows the community is private.
